TERMS & CRITERIA
A former Stick of Engineering has established a fund to recognize five outstanding students in the
Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Civil and Geological in the Faculty of Engineering. The Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative has made a contribution to this fund. Three scholarships valued at $1100 (initially two at $1000) and two scholarships valued $700 (initially two at $600) will be offered annually to five students who:
(1) have achieved the highest and second-highest cumulative grade point average in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (two for Computer majors and two for Electrical majors) and highest academic standing in the Department of Civil and Geological Engineering (Civil major) among students who have completed the second year of studies in Engineering, and have achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.8;
(2) have enrolled in the third year of studies in the Faculty of Engineering, continuing in the above named departments as full-time students.
In each of the three areas, the student with the highest cumulative grade point average will receive an award of $1,100, and the student with the second highest cumulative grade point average in Computer Engineering and in Electrical Engineering will receive an award of $700.
In the event of a tie, the selection committee has the discretion to split the award.
The selection committee shall be the Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards Committee of the Faculty of Engineering.
