VALUE: $575 (1) - 2013-2014 award value

The Geological Engineering Department in the Faculty of Engineering has established a fund with The University of Manitoba in the amount of about $1,600 in order to provide an annual bursary in that department. Monies for the fund were first collected in honour of Professor A. Baracos on the occasion of his retirement. The Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative has made a contribution to this fund. The value of the bursary shall be the available annual interest* income of the fund. The first selection is to be made following the 1990-91 regular academic session. The first selection of the bursary is to be made in the 1998-99 regular academic session, as previously this award was a scholarship in Geological Engineering (see file for back ground information).
