TERMS & CRITERIA

In memory of Norman Bercuson, his wife, Lillian, and their children have established a fund at The
University of Manitoba to support a book prize in the Faculty of Engineering. After Mr. Bercuson’s retirement from a distinguished career as a professional engineer, he voluntarily donated many years of valuable service to the Department of Mechanical Engineering. His expertise, experience, and enthusiasm contributed significantly to the development of an excellent undergraduate Process Control Library.

This prize, valued initially at $100 annually, will be available to a student who:

(1) is a full-time student in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering;

(2) has achieved high standing in the third year course, Measurements and Control (currently numbered MECH 3430), and in the fourth year course, Mechatronics System Design (currently numbered MECH 4900).

The selection committee for this scholarship shall be named by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.
