TERMS & CRITERIA
The family of Kenneth Main [B.Sc. (C.E.)/86] has established an endowment fund at the University of Manitoba to honour his memory. The fund has been established with an initial gift of $25,000, in 2009. The Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative has made a contribution to the fund. Beginning in the 2016-2017 academic session, the available annual interest from the fund will be used to offer four bursaries, of equal value, to undergraduate students who:
(1) are enrolled full-time (minimum 60% course load) in the Faculty of Engineering, in the Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil) degree program;
(2) completed at least 24 credit hours of study at the University.
(3) have achieved a minimum degree grade point average of 2.5;
(4) have demonstrated financial need on the standard University of Manitoba bursary application form.
The selection committee will be the Scholarships, Bursaries, and Awards Committee of the Faculty of Engineering.
The Board of Governors of the University of Manitoba has the right to modify the terms of this award if, because of changed conditions, it becomes necessary to do so. Such modification shall conform as closely as possible to the expressed intention of the donor in establishing the award.
