In honour of Colonel Edward Churchill, B.Sc.(C.E.)(Man.), LL.D.(Man.), Director of Planning Expo '67, a prize fund has been placed in trust with The University of Manitoba by his brother, Mr. Lou Churchill. From this fund a prize will be offered each year to a student in the final year in Civil Engineering, on the basis of scholarship in core subjects and electives related to engineering management. Selection of the recipient shall be the responsibility of the Head of the Department of Civil Engineering. The first recipient shall be selected in May 1969.
The amount of the award shall be $50 for the present, any yield in excess of that sum being capitalized annually. As the fund increased by such capitalization, and by possible further gift the award shall be increased by $10 or multiples thereof. Beginning in the spring of 1985 the award shall be increased to $125.
The Board of Governors of the University has the power to modify the terms of this award in the light of changed conditions or changed curricula, but any modification shall conform as closely as possible to the expressed intention of the donor in establishing the award.
