TERMS & CRITERIA
The Engineering Class of 1946 has established a fund that supports four awards in total. The Manitoba Scholarship and Bursary Initiative has made a contribution to this fund. From this fund, two awards (each valued at $1000 from the available annual income from the fund) shall be offered each year to full-time undergraduate students who:
(1) have completed their first year of study at The University of Manitoba (or the common first year), and who elect to continue in either civil engineering (one scholarship) or in electrical or computer engineering (second scholarship);
(2) have achieved high standing in the sciences, including mathematics, physics and chemistry;
(3) show evidence of leadership qualities and personal initiative, demonstrated by holding office, receiving awards, or making recognized contributions in extra-curricular activities in the latter years of high school and in the first full year of university study.
Academic achievement will constitute 75 percent of the selection criteria, and extra-curricular achievement will constitute 25 percent.
The selection committee shall be the Faculty of Engineering Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards Committee.
